DigiOp for Kodaline | Outdoor Location Shoot with Jennifer McCord & Concord Records

Not every shoot happens in a warm studio with perfect conditions.

This one certainly didn’t.

I recently worked as the DigiOp on an outdoor campaign with Jennifer McCord, shooting with Kodaline on behalf of Concord Records. It was one of those classic Irish days where the forecast promised a little rain and delivered it for almost the entire shoot.

As the Digital Operator, my job was to keep the workflow moving while making sure every file was safely backed up, colour accurate and immediately available for the creative team. On location, that’s often easier said than done.

For this production I supplied my Location Package, built specifically for photography working away from the comfort of a studio. With continuous independent power, weather protection, a full tethering setup and a mobile workstation, we were able to keep shooting despite the conditions.

Rain presents its own challenges. Wet cables, changing light, damp equipment and constant movement all slow a production down if you’re not prepared. Having a reliable location setup meant we could keep Capture One running, monitor every frame as it came in and maintain a smooth workflow throughout the day.

One of the things I enjoy most about location work is solving problems before they become problems. Whether that’s finding shelter for the workstation, keeping batteries charged or making sure the photographer never has to wait for files, the goal is always the same keep the day moving.

It’s always a pleasure working alongside talented photographers like Jennifer McCord and supporting projects for clients such as Concord Records.

If you’re looking for an experienced DigiOp in Ireland, or need a fully equipped Location DigiOp Package for your next commercial shoot, feel free to get in touch.

Whether it’s sunshine, sideways rain or somewhere in between, the workflow shouldn’t be what slows your production down.
